Somalian carved wood ostrich figure. Circa 1950's. This artist's work was brought to the US in the late 50's. He was not found again due to upheaval in Somalia. He was known for his sensitive stylization of animal forms. A camel carved by him is on permanent display in the Museum of International Folk Art in Santa Fe, New Mexico. $105
